Prof. Jianliang Shen
Prof. Jianliang Shen is a Research Professor at the Wenzhou Institute, University of Chinese
Academy of Sciences, China. He also holds joint appointments at the Eye Hospital of Wenzhou
Medical University and the State Key Laboratory of Optometry, Ophthalmology, and Vision
Science.
His research focuses on the design and biomedical application of nanostructured biomaterials,
with particular emphasis on hybrid inorganic–organic nanoplatforms for cancer therapy,
tissue regeneration, and ophthalmic disease treatment.
Prof. Shen has made significant contributions to the development of intelligent nanomedicine
systems for modulating the tumor immune microenvironment. His work has demonstrated how
mitochondrial-targeted nanocarriers and metabolic reprogramming strategies can enhance
antitumor immunity and improve the efficacy of immune checkpoint blockade therapies.
In addition, he has contributed to the design of multifunctional hydrogels for the treatment
of chronic inflammatory diseases, including neurodegeneration and retinal disorders. These
biomaterial systems integrate immune regulation with controlled drug delivery, providing new
therapeutic strategies for complex inflammatory conditions.
Prof. Shen has published extensively in leading journals in nanomedicine and biomaterials
science and has been recognized as a rising scientist in Chemical Society Reviews Emerging
Investigator collections. He has also been listed among the Stanford/Elsevier Top 2%
Scientists globally.
