ischemic events [28,29] . However, little is known about the alteration of the myocardial tissue methylome in
response to ischemic stress. Given the extent to which the methylome has been shown to be altered in other
physiologic and pathophysiologic states, investigating the role of tissue-specific methylation in ischemic
cardiac tissue is of interest.
