                                           Prof. Davide Pacini, MD, PhD, is a Full Professor of Cardiac Surgery at the
                                           University of Bologna and Chief of the Cardiac Surgery Department at S. Orsola
                                           Hospital, Italy. He also serves as Director of the Cardiac Surgery Residency
                                           Program at the University of Bologna, where he plays a leading role in training
                                           the next generation of cardiothoracic surgeons. Prof. Pacini is an active member
                                           of several major professional societies, including the Italian Society of Cardiac
                                           Surgery, the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS), the
                                           Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and the American Association for Thoracic Surgery.
                                           He is the former Chair of the Vascular Domain of EACTS and currently serves
                                           as Councilor of the Italian Society of Cardiac Surgery. With extensive clinical,
                                           academic, and leadership experience, Prof. Pacini is recognized internationally for
                                           his contributions to the field of cardiac and vascular surgery.





              Guest Editor 2: Dr. Luca Di Marco

                                           Bologna, Italy.

                                           Dr. Luca Di Marco received his medical degree from the University of Bologna in
                                           2001 and completed a PhD in 2004 focusing on cerebral protection during aortic arch
                                           surgery. He qualified as a cardiac surgeon in 2009. During and after his residency,
                                           he trained at several leading international cardiothoracic centers across Europe and
                                           the United States, with a strong focus on aortic surgery. He is currently a senior
                                           cardiac surgeon at the University Hospital of Bologna. His clinical and research
                                           interests include  valve  surgery, thoracic  and thoracoabdominal  aortic  surgery
                                           (including hybrid and endovascular procedures), cerebral protection in arch surgery,
                                           aortic dissection, minimally invasive surgery, and heart transplantation. Dr. Di
                                           Marco is an active member of major professional societies such as SICCH, EACTS,
                                           ANMCO, ESC, and CTSNet. He also serves as co-chair of the Italian Group for
                                           Outcomes in Cardiac Surgery (GIROC) and sits on the editorial boards of several
                                           journals, including Interactive CardioVascular and Thoracic Surgery, Journal of
                                           Cardiovascular Medicine, EC Cardiology Journal, and Annals of Cardiovascular
                                           Surgery.
