               CONCLUSION
Obesity is considered by many to be a world epidemic. With the continuous growth of bariatric surgery, the
number of patients addressing the Plastic Surgeon after massive weight loss continues to grow. Although
BCS provides a high improvement in quality of life, the incidence of postoperative complications and espe-
cially wound healing problems remains high. Patient selection, thorough preoperative preparation, atrau-
matic surgery with use of adjunctive techniques like liposuction and preservation of important anatomical
structures can lead to improved wound healing rates and less complications. Further research needs to be
done in order to reduce the large amount of dead space resulting after these operations and hence reduce the
               morbidity.
