About the Journal
Microbiome Research Reports (MRR) is an international peer-reviewed, open access journal indexed in PubMed and
Scopus, with an Online ISSN: 2771-5965. MRR published its first issue in March 2022. The overall aim of MRR is to publish
high-quality research from scientists with a common interest in microbiome/microbiota research in all its multidisciplinary
aspects. The journal is founded by OAE Publishing Inc., under the guidance of our Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Marco Ventura
(University of Parma, Italy). and Co-Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Douwe van Sinderen (University College Cork, Ireland).

Aims&Scope
The scope of the journal includes investigations into microbiomes found in one or various body compartments of
human beings or other animals. Studies on the establishment of microbial communities, as well as on microbe-microbe
interactions and microbe-host communication, will be considered for publication. Specifically, we prioritize research
that identifies and investigates the functions of microbial taxa, microbial genes, and microbial metabolites associated
with both health and disease. Our focus extends to studies that not only offer insights into the composition of microbiota/
microbiome across various animal-associated niches but also delve into the molecular mechanisms underlying
microbiome functionality. Thus, we particularly emphasize the exploration of interactions among microbes themselves,
between microbes and their environment, and between microbes and their hosts.
