              Guest Editor 1: Prof. Annie Laurie W. Shroyer


                                           Prof. Annie Laurie W. Shroyer holds a Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) obtained in 1984
                                           and a Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) obtained in 1991 from the University of Colorado.
                                           Currently, she is affiliated with the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook
                                           University.

                                           Her  research  interests  encompass  a  wide  array  of  areas,  including  translational
                                           research, clinical trials, cardiac surgery outcomes, clinical practice guidelines,
                                           evidence-based medicine, outcome assessment, health services research, quality
                                           improvement, risk assessment, and risk adjustment.

                                           Throughout  her  career,  Prof.  Shroyer  has  been  recognized  with  the  following
                                           prestigious honors and awards:

                                           Clinical Science Program Founder’s Award, University of Colorado (2007)
                                           VA Central Office Outstanding Performance Award for National Cardiovascular
                                           Care Improvement Program (2006)
                                           President’s Faculty Service Recognition Award, University of Colorado (1998)
                                           Medicine PhD Research/Teaching Award, University of Colorado (1998)
                                           National  Follmer  Bronze  Merit  Award,  Healthcare  Financial  Management
                                           Association (1996)
                                           VA Special Contribution Award
                                           VA Outstanding Woman Scientist Recognition (1996)
                                           DVAMC Outstanding Performance Award (1993, 1994, 1995)
                                           Prof.  Shroyer’s  impressive  academic  background  and  exceptional  research
                                           contributions  have  solidified  her  reputation  within  the  medical  field.  Her
                                           accomplishments span multiple  domains and have  garnered recognition and
                                           admiration from peers in the field.
