Guest Editor 1: Prof. Giuseppe Andò

Giuseppe Andò is an Associate Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at Messina
University and a Senior Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Messina University
Hospital. He has been elected Fellow and serves on the Scientific Board of the Italian
Society of Interventional Cardiology (SICI-GISE) and has been appointed “Scholar
in Cardiology” and Senior Fellow (FISC) of the Italian Society of Cardiology (SIC)
of which he coordinates the Working Group of Interventional Cardiology. Prof. Andò
has received several awards from national cardiological societies for his clinical
and research activities over the last decades. He has authored 180+ manuscripts,
including original articles, reviews, and editorials and 4 book chapters. Prof. Andò
is a Local Principal Investigator in numerous international Randomized Clinical
Trials (MATRIX, MASTER-DAPT, FIRE, DUBIUS, IMPROVE, ZODIAC, SOS-
AMI) and registries in the fields of interventional cardiology, clinical lipidology,
and atrial fibrillation. He holds several editorial positions and serves as a referee
for the MIUR (Italian Ministry of University) and the ANVUR (National Agency
for the Evaluation of Universities and Research Activities) for academic institutions
and international peer-reviewed journals.
Guest Editor 2: Prof. Paolo Calabrò

Naples, Italy.
Paolo Calabrò is a Professor in Cardiologia at the Department of Translational
Medical Sciences University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli.” He is also the Director
of the Cardio-Vascular Department of the AORN Sant’Anna and San Sebastiano
of Caserta and the U.O.C. of Emergency Clinical Cardiology with UTIC at the
A.O.R.N. Saint Anna and Saint Sebastian of Caserta. He completed his Ph.D. in
Clinical Pathophysiology at the University of Naples “Federico II.” For over 20
years, he has been involved in interventional cardiology with coronary angioplasty
(coronary angioplasty with stent implantation). His research has for years focused
on the pharmacological and interventional treatment of coronary atherosclerosis
and myocardial infarction. Its clinical and scientific activity also includes the
treatment of dyslipidemias, with particular reference to cholesterol disorders, both
on a genetic and non-genetic basis.
