Prof. Feng Shi received her bachelor’s degree and
master’s degree from Jiangsu Normal University in 1998
and 2004, respectively. She received her Ph.D. degree in
2013 at Soochow University and the University of Science
and Technology of China under the joint supervision of
Prof. Shu-Jiang Tu and Prof. Liu-Zhu Gong. During this
period, Prof. Shi spent half a year working as a visiting
scholar in the group of Prof. Teck-Peng Loh at Nanyang
Technological University. She started her independent
career in 2013 and was appointed a Full Professor at
Jiangsu Normal University in 2015. In addition, she was
appointed as a Distinguished Professor at Changzhou
University in 2022.
Her research interests focus on organocatalytic
asymmetric reactions for constructing chiral heterocyclic
frameworks, particularly the construction of chiral indole-
based scaffolds. She has published more than 130 papers
as a corresponding author in peer-reviewed international
journals, such as Acc. Chem. Res., J. Am. Chem. Soc.,
Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Fund. Res., Sci. China Chem.,
Chin. J. Chem., ACS Catal., Org. Lett., Chem. Commun.
She was selected as the Elsevier “2021 & 2022 Highly
Cited Chinese Researcher”. She is supported by the
National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars
from the National Natural Science Foundation of China
and received the Outstanding Youth Funds of Jiangsu
Province. She has received some awards and honors
such as the Natural Science Award of Jiangsu Province,
the NHU-CJC Innovation Award, the Thieme Chemistry
Journal Award, and the Asian Core Program Lectureship
Award.
