Prof. Giuseppe Tarantini serves as Head of the
Interventional Cardiology Unit, Department of cardiac,
thoracic and vascular sciences, University of Padua
Medical School, Padova, Italy. He also holds many
other international positions such as president of the
Italian Society of Interventional Cardiology (GISE),
and Scientific director of the Interventional Cardiology
research program, Department of cardiac, thoracic and
vascular sciences, University of Padova, Italy. He was

member of the regional directive council of the Italian
Society of Cardiology (SIC), member of the executive
committee and steering committee of the international
SOURCE 3 registry (Observational Study to Evaluate
Safety and Performance of SAPIEN 3 THV System in
Real Life Practice), member of the Steering Committee
of the OBSERVANT II study (OBservational Study of

Effectiveness of transcatheter aortic valve implantation
with new geneRation deVices for severe Aortic steNosis
Treatment), etc. His fields of interest include ischemic
heart disease, valvular heart disease, structural non-
valvular heart disease, and cardiomyopathy/myocarditis.
