                                                          Surgery of the Thymus Gland




                                                          Since 2017 Chief Thoracic Surgeon at Bologna (ITA) and
                                                          a Senior Honorary Lecturer at the University of Bologna
                                                          “Alma Mater”(ITA).
                                                          He completed his General Surgery and then Thoracic
                                                          Surgery residency programmes at the University of
                                                          Parma, Italy and subsequently obtained a PhD Diploma
                                                          in Cardio-thoracic Surgery at the University of Modena,
                                                          Italy.
                                                          He further enhanced his experience  with one  year
                                                          Thoracic Surgery Fellowships at the Royal Brompton
                                                          Hospital, London, UK (under the supervision of
                                                          Professors Peter Goldstraw) in 1996 and with a 4-months
                                                          fellowship in the Hôpital Pasteur CHU Nice, FRA (under
                                                          the supervision of Professors Jerome Moroux) in 1998.
                                                          He has been working as Staff Surgeon at the National
                                                          Cancer Centre in Milan, Italy under the supervision of
                       Piergiorgio Solli                  Prof Ugo Pastorino, then as a Consultant in the European

                  Department of Thoracic Surgery,         Institute of Oncology (Clinical Lead Prof Lorenzo
                Ospedale Maggiore Largo Nigrisoli,        Spaggiari).
                                  Bologna,Italy.          He was successfully appointed as Consultant Thoracic
                                                          Surgeon in Papworth Hospital, Cambridge, UK in 2014

                                                          and has been lecturer or invited speakers on numerous
                                                          International meetings and educational events.
