Daniel B. Jones, MD, MS, is Professor of Surgery at
Harvard Medical School and Vice Chair of Technology
and Innovation at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical
Center in Boston. Besides, he is Chief of the Division
of Bariatric & Minimally Invasive Surgery, and Director
of the Carl J. Shapiro Skills & Simulation Center. His
research focuses on laparoscopy, obesity surgery and
skill acquisition. What’s more, he is an NIH funded
investigator with over 300 publications, as well as Past
President of the Association for Surgical Education
(ASE) and Past President for the Society of American
Gastrointestinal & Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES).
