Prof. NG Chi Fai, Anthony is a Professor in the Division of Urology,
Department of Surgery, at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His
research interests focus on urolithiasis (stone diseases) and prostate
diseases. He has authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications and
contributed nearly 20 book chapters over the years.

Besides his efforts in basic and clinical research, Prof. Ng is devoted to improving patient care and
enhancing urological care in Hong Kong and the surrounding region. He has led his team in transforming
the diagnosis and management of prostate cancer locally. His research has supported the clinical adoption
of the Prostate Health Index, a novel diagnostic test that improves the accuracy of prostate biopsies while
minimizing complications.

Prof. Ng is also a pioneer in robotic surgery for prostate cancer. His contributions have significantly
improved patients’ quality of life. Notably, he performed Asia’s first robotic prostatectomy using the
advanced da Vinci SP® system and currently leads the robotic surgery training program at his institution.

Together with colleagues in paediatric surgery, he co-founded the Youth Urological Treatment Centre - the
first of its kind to offer holistic, one-stop services for patients with urological complications secondary to
substance abuse.

Prof Ng is also keen on professional training and knowledge transfer. He founded the Asian Urological
Surgery Training and Educational Group (AUSTEG), which plays a key role in training the next generation
of urologists across Asia.
